Construction Manager

Primary Function:

The Construction Manager will have an extensive knowledge of PV Solar installation, electrical codes with an emphasis on safety and OSHA regulations. They are responsible for seamless coordination with the Project Financial Manager, detailed construction, materials, and resource plan, securing & coordinate the site, work from inception to commissioning. Travelling is an important part of this job to be effective. The Construction Manager is expected to be on job sites, leading and mentoring the Field Operations and must be able to proficiently perform every assembly task from ground to interconnection.

Pay Range:    Compensation depends on experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directly responsible for managing the successful construction of GenPro Energy’s PV Solar projects in the US

  • Work with energy development team members to accurately estimate resources needed to complete project on time and on budget

  • Able to assess the project in the planning phase and capture near 100% of all expected tasks and materials required.

  • Assist Supply Chain and financial managers with the estimation and procurement of A/C material and equipment

  • Develop and manage project schedules

  • Understand and manage to customer contracts as it relates to project milestones, subcontracts, and other critical elements of the construction agreement

  • Lead crews at job sites to maximize efficiency and instill good practices

  • Works directly with the customer to ensure communication, customer satisfaction, and effective coordination between the project and other activities occurring at the jobsite.

  • Ensures compliance with customer goals and expectations associated with safety, quality, and environmental stewardship

  • Develops and provides oversight to ensure compliance with project-specific health and safety plans and project-specific quality control and quality assurance plans.

  • Plans, executes, and provides reporting on overall project performance

  • Identify the resources required to complete every step of the construction process (labor, equipment, tools)

  • Prepare the array for commissioning and, in some cases, perform the commissioning process.

  • Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety and able to impart such training to Field Operations crews.

  • Follow procedures, and in some cases author them as part of your normal work functions

  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices.

  • Identifies and corrects gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks and provides recommendations to management.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Working Conditions:

    • Job requires 50% or more travel to job sites in the US

    • Job requires working in all outside elements, depending on job assignment and time of year

    • Perform work at various heights (up to 90’) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, building roofs, cat walks and other areas 

    • Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.) 

    • Must be able to stand and work on your feet for at least 8 – 10 hours per day and excessive overtime as required

        • Ten years’ experience working as a foreman, project manager, or related position

        • Ability to read blueprints, terminate cable, install and trouble shoot wiring from drawing

        • Fully comprehend and adhere to NEC, NFPA, OSHA, DOT, and other federal and state requirements

        • Thorough understanding of the NEC including article 690.

        • Competent in conflict and crisis management

        • Experience in renewable energy


        • Four-year degree in construction management or similar degree, or proven track record of performance in the construction industry, with renewable energy being preferred

        • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record, preferable with CDL

        Special Requirements:

        • Willingness to travel in multi-state region with extended overnight stays

        • International travel is required, Passport eligible
