Production Specialist

GenPro Advanced Technologies is engaged in manufacturing LED lighting and control products for the general lighting market. The Production Specialist will work with a skilled team of manufacturing professionals to produce state-of-the-art LED lighting and control products. This requires a meticulous individual who can read and follow detailed instructions, handle delicate electronic components, visually inspect those components for correct placement, and assemble them with precise accuracy.

Reporting Relationship:    Senior Mechanical Engineer

Pay Range:    $15.00 – $18.00 Per Hour *Based on Experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Read and understand assembly instructions for electronic products

  • Review Bill of Material and identify material shortages

  • Identify hardware and tooling required for product assembly

  • Unbox and prepare material for assembly

  • Assemble electronic components on Sheet Metal Aluminum/Steel parts

  • Wire LED boards to power supplies and neatly bundle wires

  • Package electronic components and label boxes

  • Wrap pallets of packaged products and stage freight loads for pickup

  • Move material and packaged products within the warehouse using pallet jacks / forklift

  • Ensures work areas and manufacturing floors are clean and well maintain through teamwork

  • Always maintain assembly stations clean and safe

  • Promotes & follows all safe work practices

  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Abilities:

  • Physically able to lift and move objects 10-50 pounds
  • Must be comfortable working on your feet for long periods of time
  • Frequent movements of neck to look up, down & side to side
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift or stretch
  • Repetitive use of wrists, hands, fingers

  • Manual dexterity to present company products and features

  • Strong “eye-hand” coordination

  • Read and comprehend English instruction manuals

      Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

      • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

      • Experience with electronics preferred

      • Working knowledge of manufacturing concepts and methodology is a plus

      • Sheet Metal processing – Drilling, Tapping, Sanding, Grinding

      • Knowledge of industrial hardware – Screws, Nuts, Rivets, Wire Ties, etc.

      • Experience with workshop tools – Power Drills, Rivet Guns, Screw drivers, Wrenches, Alan Keys

      • Basic knowledge of electricity – positive/negative terminals, AC/DC power, electric insulation

      • Packaging skills – Taping and strapping boxes, wrapping pallets, labeling packages

      Working Conditions:

      • Work environment can be loud during the operations of machines
      • Standing/walking on cement floor for long periods

      Education/Licenses:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
