PRIMARY FUNCTION

GenPro Energy Solutions is seeking certified Apprentice Electricians to work with and learn from a highly skilled team of electrical professionals in the installation and service of PV solar systems. The successful candidate must have strong technical skills, a high level of integrity, a positive attitude, and be an excellent team player. Candidate must be eligible for certification through the Federal Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship and enroll in and complete the Company’s Apprenticeship Program. Travel is required for this position.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Construction

PAY RANGE: $18.65 – $30.99 Hour (based on electrical hours)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Enroll in and complete the Apprenticeship Program through the Company’s preferred electrical training program.
  • Maintain certification as an Apprentice Electrician through the Federal Department of Labor.
  • Assist electricians under direct supervision, including material handling and installation support.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials for job sites.
  • Under the direction and supervision of electricians:
  • — Operate tools and equipment safely.
  • — Install low and medium voltage cable.
  • — Install a wide range of light fixtures.
  • — Install PV solar panels, racking, and associated equipment.
  • — Assist in terminating cable; install and troubleshoot wiring from drawings.
  • Assist in layout and preparation for installation of PV solar and LED lighting technologies.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain a clean job site.
  • May be required to operate select heavy equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES

  • Physically able to lift and move objects 10–50 pounds.
  • Standing/walking for long periods.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, or stretch.
  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Climbing and descending stairs and ladders.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.

SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Strong technical skills.
  • Dependable; high level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Good verbal communication and excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude.

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior electrical experience or technical school degree desired.
  • Experience in renewable energy is desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work in all outdoor elements depending on assignment and time of year.
  • Perform work at various heights (up to 90’) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, building roofs, catwalks, and other areas.
  • Work in restricted areas (switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.).
  • Stand and work on your feet for at least 8 hours per day, with overtime as required.

EDUCATION/LICENSES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Apprentice Electrician License, desired.
  • Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record; CDL preferred.
  • International travel may be required; passport eligible.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness to travel in a multi-state region with extended overnight stays.
  • Employees must always have personal tools with them.
