SAFETY MANAGER

PRIMARY FUNCTION

GenPro Energy is seeking an experienced and qualified safety professional to support operations throughout the Midwest. The Safety Manager plans, directs, and implements the organization’s safety programs including program development, performance measurement, training, and administration.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Chief Operating Officer

PAY GRADE RANGE: G-11 — $93,905 (Min) to $129,589 (Max)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA standards, local safety regulations, and company policies, working closely with Director of EPC Construction, Construction Managers, and site leads.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate safety programs, protocols, and procedures with trade partners, subcontractors, and employees.
  • Manage and regularly update the health, environmental, and safety manual.
  • Conduct documented safety and health inspections to ensure best practices are standard behavior.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to ensure protective equipment and first aid materials are available, and safety documents are posted on-site.
  • Investigate injuries and near misses; review incident reports, coordinate corrective measures, and log injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes.
  • Minimize hazards and enforce safety policies using the company’s disciplinary policy.
  • Develop and maintain Site-Specific Safety Plans, training programs, and Procore safety inspections; report to Director of EPC Construction.
  • Develop and implement Site-Specific Safety Plans for project contracts; serve as primary contact for project developers and owners.
  • Manage company pre-qualification applications (e.g., ISNnetworld).
  • Maintain safety statistics such as OSHA300A, TCIR, DART; report to leadership and recommend improvements.
  • Manage federal and state safety, environment, and health reporting on quarterly and annual basis.
  • Assist in developing task-specific work planning processes and audit adherence.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years large-scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, with at least 4 years in safety management.
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety; familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Working technical knowledge of PV solar installations strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management processes.
  • Working knowledge of crisis management protocols.

SKILLS, ABILITY, AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; able to draft/edit policies and procedures.
  • EPC industry experience.
  • Conceptual planning ability.

  • Effective communication, meeting, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort with time reporting systems.

  • Travel will be required.
